All of you have probably heard that our school suffered
significant damage from the fire at the start of the year. However,
due to the hard work of teachers, students and parents the school has
come a long way in a short time. The current students spent their
first three weeks at Deakin University, but now there are a number of
portables in place and the school community has been able to return
to some sense of normality.
It has been a somewhat chaotic time for the alumni as obviously there
is lack of facilities at the senior campus. However, now more
than ever we recognise the need for the alumni to connect our school
community. We thank everyone for their emails and phone calls
offering their support and condolences.
The alumni project is gaining momentum and this year we will be introducing
new benefits for our members. For the first time ever we have
a membership card! Those who pay their membership/renewal fee you will
receive this card that entitles you to various discounts in Mt.Waverley
Shopping Village. These include: Katies Cards & Records 10%,
Mt.Waverley Charcoal Chickens 15% and more. You will also receive a
biannual newsletter (we apologise for only one issue last year, we are
endeavouring to deliver you a bumper two in one issue for Semester one
J ).
Some other good news is all our memorabilia which includes photos and
past year books have been not been lost. Unfortunately all
past administration records of students were destroyed in the fire.
So if you know of any past students who are interested in being part
of the alumni and receiving updates on how the school recovery is going
please pass this information on to them.
This year we need your support more than ever!
